How to evaluate a new-to-Canada EV brand (without getting burned)

When a brand is unfamiliar, the “spec sheet” is the easy part. The hard part is long-term support. Here are the checks that protect you.

Non-negotiables

• Warranty in writing that is valid in Canada.
• Parts pipeline: where parts come from and typical wait times.
• Service network: named locations, not vague promises.
• Charging compatibility: networks you can actually use.

If any of these answers are unclear, delay purchase until they’re documented. Early adopters can get great value—but only when support exists.
