Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 22, 2026
1. What we collect
We may collect account email, password hash, subscription identifiers, watchlist selections, optional marketing consent, contact-form submissions, basic security logs, technical information normally sent by a browser or hosting platform, and ownership information you choose to enter such as vehicle make/model/year, odometer readings, maintenance reminders, warranty limits, service history, service providers and costs, charging sessions, electricity use/cost entries, tire-set information, comparison assumptions, and alert preferences.
2. Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not intentionally store full payment card numbers. Stripe may collect payment and device information under its own privacy terms.
3. Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies, device identifiers or similar technologies to serve, measure and personalize advertising where permitted and according to your applicable choices. Google acts under its own privacy policies. Browser and ad controls may allow you to limit personalized advertising.
4. Why we use information
We use information to provide accounts and watchlists, process subscriptions, send requested service alerts, answer messages, secure and troubleshoot the site, improve features, comply with law, and—where you have consented—send marketing communications.
5. Email consent
Optional marketing email consent is recorded separately. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time using an unsubscribe link. Service messages related to an account or requested monitoring may still be sent when permitted.
6. Sharing
We may share information with hosting, payment, email, analytics, advertising and security providers only as needed to operate the service. We do not sell a customer list as a standalone product.
7. Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above, legal obligations, fraud prevention, accounting and dispute resolution. Contact submissions and inactive account data may be periodically deleted.
8. Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including password hashing, HTTPS when configured by the host, session protections and restricted database access. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
9. Your choices
Account Settings lets you change alert preferences and login details, download a machine-readable account export, and request account deletion. Active paid subscriptions must be cancelled before account deletion. You may also manage browser cookies and advertising preferences through your browser and Google controls.
10. International service providers
Some providers, including Google and Stripe, may process information outside Canada. Information may therefore be subject to the laws of other jurisdictions.
11. Changes
We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. The revision date above identifies the current version.
